Oud Holland – Journal for Art of the Low Countries
Oud Holland – Journal for Art of the Low Countries is the oldest surviving art-historical periodical in the world. Founded in 1883, it has appeared virtually without interruption ever since. Supported by the RKD – Netherlands Institute for Art History since 1972, it is entirely devoted to the visual arts of the Low Countries from 1400 until the early-twentieth century and has featured thousands of scholarly articles, including numerous pioneering art-historical studies. This website serves as a platform for news about the latest edition, and reviews of recent books and exhibitions. Back issues can be viewed and downloaded from 1883 onwards. Additionally, information is provided about how to submit an article or to subscribe to the journal.
